Cookies and Local Storage

Last updated:

In short

  • We use no cookies on tallyfall.com or in the web game at tallyfall.com/play.
  • That is why you do not see a cookie banner.
  • The web game saves your settings, best scores, progress and an anonymous device key only in your own browser.
  • The website remembers one thing: whether you closed the language suggestion.
  • We count page views without cookies and without storing your IP address. There are no third-party trackers.

No cookies

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser, often to recognise you later. We do not set any cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics, social media pixels, advertising tags or embedded videos from other platforms.

What the web game stores in your browser

The web game uses your browser’s local storage so it can remember you between visits. This data stays on your device. We do not read it from your browser, except for the anonymous device key and game summaries that the game sends to our servers (see the Privacy Policy).

What Why
Settings (for example language, sound, accessibility options such as high contrast, tap-to-select or Calm mode) So the game looks and works the way you set it
Best scores To show your records
Progress (for example Learn levels completed and stars) So you can continue where you left off
Anonymous device key A random key that links your scores to your device, without your name or email

What the website stores in your browser

Key What it stores Why
tf-lang-dismissed That you closed the language suggestion So we do not suggest another language on every visit

Counting visits without cookies

To know which pages are useful, our own server counts page views. For each view it records only:

  • the page path (for example /kids),
  • the page language,
  • the day,
  • the name of the website that sent you, if any (for example a search engine), without the full address.

We do not store your IP address, and we do not set cookies or build a profile. Campaign links with UTM parameters are counted the same way.

Cloudflare

Our website runs behind Cloudflare, which delivers pages quickly and protects us against attacks. Cloudflare processes your IP address briefly to do this. We do not use Cloudflare to track you.

The mobile apps

The Tallyfall and Tallyfall Kids apps do not use browser cookies. The Tallyfall app shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your advertising ID if you agree. Tallyfall Kids has no ads and no tracking. See the Privacy Policy and the Kids privacy notice.

How to delete what is stored

You can delete everything the website and the web game have stored by clearing the site data for tallyfall.com in your browser settings. Note that this also deletes your web game settings, best scores and progress.
