Parent guide

Last updated:

Tallyfall Kids is the version of Tallyfall made for children aged 6 to 12. It follows the topic map for grades 1 to 6 plus an Advanced section, with about 250 short levels.

What makes Tallyfall Kids safe

  • No ads. Ad code isn’t even included in the app.
  • No tracking. No analytics or tracking tools, no location, contacts, camera or microphone.
  • No email or real name. Your child picks a nickname from a ready-made list.
  • No pressure to buy. Locked levels show a lock and “Ask a parent”, nothing more. There are no timers or “buy now” offers.

Children can always move on. In Learn mode the Skip button is always there, and Hint shows the first tile and then the whole path. Wrong answers cost nothing; the game explains the maths instead.

The parental gate

Purchases, store and outside links, class settings and the parent report sit behind a gate:

  1. Type a 4-digit number that is written in words (for example “one thousand four hundred seventy-two” becomes 1472).
  2. Press and hold Confirm for 3 seconds.

Three wrong tries lock the gate for 60 seconds. The gate stops accidents, not a determined child, so keep the device’s own parental controls on too.

What data we use

We use an anonymous device key, the nickname, and game summaries (for example which targets were found or skipped) so progress and the parent report work. Purchase records come from Apple or Google. If you contact us, we keep your email for the support request. Full details are in the Tallyfall Kids privacy notice.

Calm mode and accessibility

Open Settings → Accessibility. Useful options for children:

  1. Calm mode: no timers and no danger alerts, gentle wording for mistakes, visual helpers such as ten-frames and dot arrays, and earlier hints.
  2. Tap to select: tap tiles instead of dragging, then press OK.
  3. Big tiles: a 5 × 8 board in Learn levels.
  4. Dot pattern, high contrast, a readable font and reduce motion.
  5. Left-handed layout for the buttons.

Settings are saved per profile. See our accessibility statement for more.

A daily puzzle without pressure

Each day there is a short “Puzzle of the day” built from your child’s grade. Tallyfall Kids has no streak counter and no notifications. Instead you get a positive weekly summary such as “You played on 3 days this week”. Missed days are never highlighted, and there is no global leaderboard.

Joining a class

If a teacher uses Tallyfall, they will give you a 6-character code or a link.

  1. Tap Grown-ups and complete the gate.
  2. Tap Join a class and enter the code, or open the teacher’s link on the device.

The teacher sees only the nickname and game statistics. While your child is in a licensed class, the full version is unlocked.

Deleting data

  1. Tap Grown-ups, complete the gate, then choose Delete my data.
  2. Or use the data deletion form.

We complete requests within 30 days and confirm by email. Privacy questions: [email protected]. Anything else: the contact form.
