Tallyfall Kids Privacy Notice

Last updated:

In short

  • No ads and no tracking. Tallyfall Kids contains no advertising code and no analytics or tracking tools.
  • No email, no real name, no location. Your child plays with a nickname picked from a ready-made list.
  • Grown-ups only. Purchases, links that leave the app and the Grown-ups area are behind a parental gate.
  • Classes stay private. If your child joins a class, the teacher sees only the nickname and game statistics.
  • You stay in control. You can delete your child’s data in the app or by writing to [email protected].

Who we are

Tallyfall Kids is made by {{COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME}}, {{COMPANY_ADDRESS}}. We are responsible for your child’s data in the app (the controller). If your child plays in a class, the school is responsible for the class data and we act on the school’s behalf (see the Schools privacy notice).

Questions? Write to [email protected].

Who this notice is for

This notice is for parents and guardians of children who use Tallyfall Kids, our maths game for ages 6 to 12 on iOS and Android. We have written it in plain language so you can explain it to your child.

For the general Tallyfall app and the web game, see our Privacy Policy.

What we collect

Data Why How long
A random, anonymous device key To save progress and link the full version to the device Until you delete it
A nickname, chosen from a ready-made list To show in the app and, if your child joins a class, to the teacher Until you delete it
Game summaries and rule attempts (for example, which levels were played and how many answers were right) To save progress, show the parent report and, in a class, the teacher report 24 months, then combined into anonymous statistics
Purchase record for the full version (handled by Apple or Google) To unlock the full version and restore it As long as accounting law requires
Your email address, only if you contact us To answer you 24 months

Your child cannot type a free-text name, and we never ask your child for an email address, a real name, a photo or a date of birth.

What we never do

  • No ads. There is no advertising code in Tallyfall Kids at all. We check this automatically every time we build the app.
  • No tracking or analytics tools. We do not use any third-party analytics. The app only sends anonymous game summaries to our own servers.
  • No advertising ID. We do not read or use it.
  • No location, contacts, camera or microphone. The app does not ask for these permissions.
  • No sale or sharing of data for advertising or marketing.
  • No pressure to buy. Locked content simply shows a lock and “Ask a parent”. There are no countdown offers.

The parental gate

Some parts of the app are only for grown-ups:

  • buying the full version (one-time purchase, 6.99 EUR; the exact price is shown in your app store),
  • restoring purchases,
  • joining a class,
  • the parent report and privacy settings,
  • any link that leaves the app, such as this website or the app store.

To pass the gate, you type a four-digit number that is written out in words (for example “one thousand four hundred seventy-two” becomes 1472) and then press and hold a button for three seconds. After three wrong tries, the gate locks for 60 seconds. We use this instead of a sum, because in a maths game children are good at sums.

If your child joins a class

A teacher can invite your child to a class with a class code. You enter the code in the Grown-ups area, behind the parental gate.

  • The teacher sees only the nickname, class membership and game statistics (for example levels played, stars, whether Calm mode was used).
  • The teacher does not see your email, your child’s real name or location, or anything else on the device.
  • The school is responsible for the class data. We process it only on the school’s instructions. Details are in the Schools privacy notice.
  • You can leave the class at any time in the Grown-ups area.

We process this small set of data because it is needed to provide the game you chose for your child (performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and because of our legitimate interest in a game that works without accounts (Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep purchase records because the law requires it (Art. 6(1)(c)). We do not rely on your child’s consent for any processing, and we offer no online services to children that would require consent under GDPR Art. 8.

Tallyfall Kids is designed to meet:

  • Apple’s App Store rules for the Kids category,
  • the Google Play Families Policy and its requirements for apps aimed at children,
  • the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including Article 8 on children and online services, and the principles of data minimisation and privacy by default.

We review the current version of these rules before every release.

Who helps us

We share data only with the providers we need to run the app: {{HOSTING_PROVIDER}} (our servers in the EU), Cloudflare (secure connections and protection against attacks), Apple and Google (app stores and purchases) and {{EMAIL_PROVIDER}} (email, only if you write to us). None of them may use your child’s data for advertising. Where a provider is outside the EU, we use the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another legal safeguard. The full list is in our Privacy Policy.

Deleting your child’s data

  • In the app: open the Grown-ups area (behind the parental gate) → Settings → Privacy → Delete my data.
  • Without the app: use the form on Delete your data or write to [email protected].

We delete the data within 30 days and confirm by email if you gave us an address. We must keep purchase records for as long as accounting law requires; the purchase itself is held by Apple or Google.

Your rights

As a parent or guardian you can ask us to show, correct, delete or hand over your child’s data, and you can object to how we use it. Write to [email protected]; we answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Hungary the NAIH (naih.hu), or the supervisory authority in your country.

Changes

If we change this notice, we update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect from children, we tell you in the Grown-ups area before it takes effect.
